The European Fanconi Anemia Virtual Tumor Advisory Board (FA VTAB) is a key initiative of the FA Europe Network. The FA Europe Management Team provide administrative support to the FA VTAB, but all patient details are restricted to participating healthcare professionals.

The FA VTAB is starting in the simplest way possible recognising the urgency of the need to share expertise in FA treatment. The flowchart below describes the current process, but this may change if more capable platforms for hosting the FA VTAB system are identified and made available.  If you have further questions about the FA VTAB please Contact Us

Requesting Advice

The FA VTAB is open to licensed medical professionals across Europe to seek advice from a multidisciplinary team who are experienced in the treatment of Fanconi Anemia.

  • Once patient consent for discussion has been obtained, the physician seeking advice (the Requester) downloads the form from the website (www.faeurope.org/favtab), adds the case details and the advice sought, and emails it to the Moderator (Dr Eunike Velleuer-Carlberg) at
  • The moderator will then share the case details with members of the FA VTAB for discussion at the next monthly FA VTAB Zoom meeting. These are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 17:30 CET. Joining details for the meeting will be sent out to all.
  • The Requester will discuss the case with VTAB members present during this Zoom meeting and the Moderator will write up the case and send the advice to the Requester by email.
  • A follow-up request will be sent to the Requester to establish the treatment outcome
  • The Moderator will hold a file of case notes in a secure location.
  • For very urgent cases, it may be possible to hold an ad hoc meeting by contacting Dr Eunike Velleuer-Carlberg at
